Act III scenes iii and iv
Scene iii - Things to keep in mind:
· Shakespeare shows us romeo’s character again
o Believes banishment is a fate far worse than death, since he will be forced to live yet live without Juliet
o Romeo falls to the floor, and is inconsolable
o Romeo fears that Juliet thinks he is a murderer, and threatens to kill himself
§ Suicide again rears its ugly head in this play

Scene iv - Things to keep in mind:
· What are some potential reasons Capulet would have moved up the wedding date?
o Sad time (Juliet is distraught, although not because of Tybalts death) so Capulet may have wanted to cheer her up
o The fight with Montagues is getting intense, Capulet may want more political power and connections
· One thing to note, the powerlessness of women in Verona at this time
o The king says he thinks his daugher will listen to him, then quickly corrects himself to he is sure Juliet will abide his decision
