Two Truths and a Lie Activity
This is a pretty common game that I'm sure most of you have at least heard of, if not played.
Rules:
-Come up with 2 truths about yourself, and 1 lie about yourself
-truths/lies must be appropriate to a classroom setting
-if someone guesses your lie correctly, you must let them know (no cheating!)
-the facts can be anything about your life
-if a fellow student guesses your lie and is wrong, you get 1 point
-if you guess a fellow student's lie and you are correct, you get 1 point
-if both truths are guessed (so only the lie is left) then you get an additional point
-each round the student who is giving their truths/lie can therefore get a max of 3 points
-guessing students can get 1 point (if they guess the lie correctly)
-no student can go twice until every student has gone once
-A rule for me: say your name before you say your truths/lie
-I will go first as a demonstration
BUT...
Before we play the game as a class I have Shakespeare related questions I want you to work through first
-Go to the website below and read through the biography and other pages about William Shakespeare and his era
-As you are reading through the information, answer the two truths/one lie questions about Shakespeare's life
-We will take them up as a class, and you get one point for each question you answered correctly
-These points will be added onto the points you can earn when we play two truths/one lie as a class
-There may be a prize for the student with the most points after the game is done...
